In December 2012, GeoViet Consulting has completed and transferred for operation the “Web-based national database system in support of urban upgrading and urban development management”. This newly upgraded version - with complete functions for interactive online collection of information on urban development and urban projects, information management for standard report generation at national, regional and provincial levels consolidation as well as providing up-to-date urban profiles in interactive tabular, graphic and web-mapping forms - is to support the Urban Development Agency (UDA), MOC in its nationwide management functions for urban upgrading and urban development.

In December 2012, GeoViet Consulting has completed and transferred for operation the "Web-based national water supply and environmental sanitation sector assessment database (WSSAP)" in support of the Heath Environment Management Agency (MOH) to manage and provide online information on drinking-water and sanitation coverages nationwide as well as its impacts on environment, health and quality of life. With data entry / conversion, data management and integration, report compilation and online maps generation functions, the WSSAP provides support for regular bi-annual WSS Sector Assessment as well as assists the monitoring of MDGs on water supply and environment sanitation in Vietnam.

In November 2012, GeoViet Consulting supported the Forest Protection Department (FPD) to restore routine operation of the online Vietnam FireWatch system – for near-realtime forest fire detection and management based on MODIS and NOAA-x data acquired at the FPD satellite receiving station. With operational usefulness and effectiveness in forest fire early detection and management proved over the years, GeoViet Consulting is currently support FPD in planning for further system expansion in 2013...

Since October 2012, GeoViet Consulting started to provide professional training in combination with professional consulting for organizations and individuals, who need technical supports in designing and implementing projects and researches… in the areas of remote sensing, GIS, mapping, survey and data analysis as well as geo-informatics. During August 2012, GeoViet Consulting is conducting training on “GIS applications for socio-economic development studies” for researchers of the Central Institute for Economic Manageemnt (CIEM) and staffs of the Office of the Government, and Ministry of Home Affairs. The course combines GIS basic concepts applied for socio-economic context, interactive discussions on practical applications needs and practical ArcGIS hands-on sessions by themes on socio-economic database building and analysis for economic management... This is the first in the series of customized thematic trainings aiming at bringing modern GIS technology to support socio-economic development researches and analyses for development plans formulation, assessment of public policies and spatial decision support (SDSS).

As EPN partner, GeoViet Consulting participated in the Vietnam ESRI User Conference “GIS Empowering the City” (VUC2012) in Ho Chi Minh City on July 05, 2012 and presented “Lessons Learned in GIS implementation for Infrastructure Management” based on our practical experiences in deploying ESRI GIS for urban infrastructure management in a number of Vietnam’s cities and provinces nationwide.

During 14/5 - 01/6/2012, GeoViet Consulting is conducting training on “GIS applications in urban and environment management” for lecturers of the Faculty of Urban and Environmental Economics, National Economic University in Hanoi. Aiming at strengthening GIS knowledge and professional skills applied in various spatial decision making tasks in the areas of resources economics and management, environment, urban and regional management, the training course is organized into 3 modules: (1) Fundamentals of applied GIS; (2) GIS applications in economics and environment management – in thematics studies; and (3) GIS applications in economics and urban management – in thematics studies…

GeoViet Consulting participated at the 3rd Vietnam National GIS Conference 2011 in Da Nang city on December 17-18, 2011 and presented two papers on "GIS applications for urban infrastructure management in Vietnam" and "Utilizing MODIS data for monitoring agricultural seasonal patterns, land cover mapping and land use change study in the Red River Delta during 2008 - 2010".

GeoViet Consulting participated and exhibited at the Vietnam ESRI User Conference (VUC 2011) in Hanoi on November 02, 2011. It is the first time as EPN partner, GeoViet Consulting participated in VUC - the largest annual event in Vietnam to help Vietnamese customers to assess to and to apply most up-to-date GIS technologies in their work and business.

In July 2011, GeoViet Consulting has completed and transferred for operation the "Web-based Database for Investment in Rural Water Supply and Sanitation sector" with online data collection and webmapping functions to support to the RWSSP CU in coordinating partners efforts in the sector. This Phase 2 development includes additional data integration and report generation functions and RWSS M&E indicators as well as data on international support for for RWSS.
